Finally got round to updating the shop again, which has taken ages - there's over 350 knives in stock now!

Show season is about to start, so if you're in the area come and say hello. First off is the Artisans and Reenactors Market at the Warwickshire Event Centre on the weekend of 17th to 19th March 2023. ​

Lots of shows this year (around 15!), so I'll try to keep the site up to date. Don't forget to follow me on Insta and Facebook - that's got the most up to date info.

Happy New Year to everyone - here's hoping that this one is a little better than the last one, hey?

It's always nice to get a commission, and sometimes they are really special. Hannah, the daughter of one of my colleagues at my day job, is in the Scouts and her Dad asked me to create a special knife for her birthday.

Hannah knew what woods she wanted (ebony and pink ivory), she wanted her name on it, and it needed to be right for a young lady.

She also wanted to know how it was made, so I fully photographed the creation of her knife and sent this on to her (and some of the pictures will appear in the 'How they're made' section for good measure.

Pleased to say she loved it, and it was a pleasure to make :)

So, I've done my end of year accounts, such as they are, and I can afford to discount many of my products due to buying materials in bulk.

It's been a rough year, so it only seems fair that I put these discounts to you in the shop, so please have a browse. I've also updated the descriptions, but shout if you have any questions

Finally got round to updating the shop (custom commissions have kept me busy!), and there are a bunch of new Damascus knives in there for you to have a look at.

Now that my range has expanded, it's difficult to refer to a knife by size, steel and wood - they all sound very similar!

​

To try and resolve this, the standard shapes are now named according to the templates that they start from - although every knife is unique, they all start from  templates that I have shaped out of plywood that I can feel in my hand before putting it in steel :)

​

• Bushcraft are all named after British mammals

• Kitchen are named after celebrity chefs

• Historical are named after villages and towns in the Peak District

I now make knives from Damascus!

Something I've wanted to do for a while, and now that I have the new Knife Shack (a converted 12x8 shed) up and running, thought it was time to have a go.

​

I'm keeping this 6 inch kitchen knife for myself, but there are more coming soon in the shop - watch this space ...

In other news, I have also moved house. Now happily ensconced in East Ayrshire, the workshop is open for business again. The business name remains appropriate since the village is overlooked by Cairn Table, which is a white peak, and there are mountain hares upon it :)
